Childhood Cancer Advocacy: Great Cycle Challenge

Updated September 2024

In 2024, Ms. Tanja and Team Al Siraat will proudly mark their 12th consecutive year participating in the Great Cycle Challenge (GCC) to raise funds for children fighting cancer. Over the years, they have raised more than $50,000, all of which supports vital research for better treatments and cures for childhood cancers.

The GCC Australia is a major fundraising initiative of the Children’s Medical Research Institute, kicking off annually on October 1st. Since its inception in 2013, GCC has grown into one of Australia’s largest cycling events, with over 100,000 riders from every state and territory coming together. Every year, this dedicated community of cyclists takes to their bikes to combat childhood cancer.

Did you know that cancer remains the leading cause of disease-related death among children in Australia? Each year, over 700 children are diagnosed with cancer, and tragically, three children lose their battle every week.

Your donation provides crucial, life-saving support to courageous children battling cancer and their families. Every contribution makes a real difference and brings hope to those who need it most.
