Our Year 8 and 9 boys successfully participated in this year’s Islamic Schools FUTSAL Competition.
The boys did us proud, winning 5 games, drawing 4 and only losing one. They finished in third position out of 11 teams: A fantastic result for Al Siraat.
Futsal is the official FIFA version of indoor soccer and indeed the only internationally recognised small sided game. Futsal uses a special low bounce ball, which encourages players to develop skills, sharpen their reflexes and improve their decision-making under pressure. With a 4 second restart rule, small playing area and unlimited substitutions the game offers non-stop action and significantly increases a player’s speed of play.
