This term has been a very busy time for our Science team as the focus this year is to provide students with increased hands-on experiences in Science. Teachers have been doing this by allowing students to explore and review concepts through web-based inter-actives, games and increased laboratory work.
In addition to what is happening in the classroom, we are very excited to announce that 10 students from our Year 10 group have been selected to take part in an initiative from Melbourne University called "The Amazing Spaghetti Machine Contest" (ASMC) 2016! Only 27 schools are selected annually to take part in this contest. Participants are required to create the world’s craziest, most convoluted plant watering machine which will be judged by the University of Melbourne in August.
Regular updates will also be provided through the Spaghetti Machine Website:

A Facebook page for the students, full of links to things to keep them inspired and on track, has also been created:

Furthermore, Nour Najem from Year 10B will be taking part in the “Hands on Engineering” event at the University of Melbourne scheduled for Friday, 1 April 2016. This is a full day program where students come on campus and are involved in interactive, engaging and fun workshops designed to create awareness of Engineering & IT concepts and applications.
