Year 8 LEAP: Emerging Leaders Forum 2024

2 September 2024

Eight Year 8 LEAP students participated in the Emerging Leaders Forum this week, a program organised by Asia Education Foundation & University of Melbourne designed to enable Victorian students to connect and collaborate with peers from around the world.

The 3 days Forum, held online via Zoom, included students from India, China, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, South Korea, and more. It aimed to deepen students' understanding of identity, belonging, and intercultural awareness, shaping them into globally competent leaders.

These eight ASC students will be invited to attend a follow up workshop at the University of Melbourne in Term 4:

  • Mohaned D.
  • Zacharia A.
  • Pariza Z.
  • Hana W.
  • Hiba H.
  • Mishaal M.
  • Safia M.
  • Amani W.

Throughout the program, these students developed a strong understanding of global citizenship and its responsibilities. They engaged with diverse perspectives, experiences, and cultures and worked to generate solutions to Sustainable Development Goals developed by the United Nations in a local context. By the end of the forum, they were equipped with the knowledge and skills to take meaningful action, preparing them to make a positive impact on their communities and beyond.
