Our Year 8 students participated in an Indigenous excursion to the Royal Botanical Gardens on Wednesday, 2 March 2022.
Our students learned about the peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation and examined sustainable land practices used by Aboriginal ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½s. Students developed a greater understanding and respect for local Aboriginal culture with key focuses on the First Nations People and their connection to Country, how the use of plants for food, tools, shelter and medicine were found, used and created.
Students also explored connections to the land and our sense of belonging by participating in traditional indigenous ceremonies and practise.
We thank Mahir Sidiqui and Muhammad Arain for the excellent photos they have taken during the excursion, mashaAllah.
