Our Year 10 students recently undertook a five-day educational tour of our national capital in Canberra. Students were given the wonderful opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.
The following is a list of the many places we were able to visit with our students for various educational programs:
- ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ War Memorial
- Parliament House
- Museum of ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Democracy
- National Museum of Australia
- High Court of Australia
- Questacon – The National Science and Technology Centre
- National Arboretum Canberra
- Geo Science
- Government House
- National Archives of Australia
- National Capital Exhibition.
The ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Government recognises the importance of all young ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½s being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist in meeting the cost of the excursion the ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Government is contributing funding of $45 per student under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion.
We would like to thank the ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ Government for their support. This was the third time ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ was able to embark on an interstate trip with our students.
We would also like to acknowledge and thank Ms Mehreen, Mr Vis, Mr Bektash, Mr Shukran, Ms Rahat, Ms Esra and Ms Maryam for their tireless efforts in making this a rich and very valuable experience, alhamdulillah.
