Today, Friday 30th October 2015, marks "Happy Teachers Day" in Australia.
To celebrate this event, all ÃÛÌÒµ¼º½ staff across the teaching, administration and maintenance departments came together in the afternoon as a family for a formal gathering where they were treated to a delicious lunch on this gracious occasion. Our Senior SRC members greeted staff and celebrated their teachers by directing words and poetry of gratitudes and praise.
There were also many smiles and laughter when staff was shown a video in which their colleagues could be heard expressing their love for this wonderful profession and non-teaching staff thanked their colleagues. Most staff could also be seen wearing earthy colours in class and at the gathering to go along with the Moroccan-themed luncheon. The best dressed staff members were presented with a gift as well as the funniest contributions to the video.
Thank you to our Year 6 students who kindly helped to set up their classrooms for this occasion and helped with the decorations.
On its 40th anniversary this year, this day represents a significant token of the awareness, understanding and appreciation displayed for the contribution that teachers make to education.
